The City of Covina is staying up to date with the potential effects of the upcoming storm. We are obtaining intelligence from trusted weather services who report potential wind and rains, unusual for this time of year, but not completely unusual for California. We have participated in several briefings with the County Office of Emergency Management and others to understand the status of readiness throughout Los Angeles County, and any available resources. CPD will continue to be present throughout our city and we will continue to monitor the storm via our Emergency Operation Center. City Public Works have checked street drainage, posted signage where water sometimes overflows and have made sand/bags available at the Public Works Yard located on Barranca Avenue.
Wind and rain is expected Sunday and Monday. We are confident we are well prepared and available if you need to contact us or need assistance.
