The City of Covina is located in Los Angeles County within the San Gabriel Valley. It is located approximately 20 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. The City is primarily a residential community with numerous elementary, intermediate and high schools. The City also contains commercial, light industry areas, Foothill Transit bus and Metrolink rail services. The City is approximately seven square miles with a resident population of approximately 50,000.

The City of Covina is pleased to announce it has collaborated with the County of Los
Angeles, Office of Emergency Management, the Covina Police Department, Los
Angeles County Fire Department and California Office of Emergency Services and
identified brush fire zones within the City that potentially may require evacuation due to
an emergency. With the fire season approaching, it is important our residents know their
zones. Not all City of Covina is susceptible to brush fires and therefore, not all of
Covina has been divided into “brush fire zones!
