Lieutenant Ray Marquez
Ray Marquez was hired as a reserve police officer in November 1995. In 1997 he was hired as a full-time police officer. As a patrol officer he worked a variety of assignments, DARE instructor, Tactical Flight Officer (TFO), School Resource Officer and then was a Field Training Officer. In 2001 Lieutenant Marquez was selected to the Department’s Special Response Team (SWAT). In 2005 he was assigned as a property crimes detective. Ray was promoted to Sergeant in December 2007 where he worked as patrol supervisor and later assigned as the Detective Bureau Sergeant, Professional Standards Sergeant and Recruiting/Crime Impact Team. In September 2025 Ray was promoted to Lieutenant. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Studies and a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute.
